“This something has triggered me, has provoked a tiny shock, a satori, the passage of a void”…
-Roland Barthes, Camera Lucida (1980)

I went to the internet shopping mall and forgot my wallet, so instead of buying things I took pictures of them and pretended they were mine. When I realized that I was not alone, I started taking pictures of other people’s pictures. I imagined us all frolicking together in a virtual economy of beautiful images. I also tried to find images of things that don’t cost anything, so that they could be part of that economy, too. Pretty soon, images became currency. If you don’t believe me, ask the internet.
