THE INVISIBLE CORE

I’m currently reading the wonderful, inspiring memoirs of Marguerite Wildenhain, a potter who studied at the Bauhaus when it first opened and then moved to Northern California to continue her work. Her pieces are a combination between pottery, sculpture, and drawing: it always takes me a moment to remember that the soft sketches and shapes are on a functional domestic object.
